Today's Task:

Make sure you have a category in your EveryDollar budget that’s dedicated to giving. Then, get $5–10 cash and think of a fun way to give it away.

If you’re trying to “find” more money in your life, it might seem weird for me to ask you to give some of it away. But that's exactly what I’m about to do!

Giving has a way of changing your heart. It makes you less focused on yourself and more focused on others. And when you develop a spirit of giving, you become grateful for what you already have. (Bonus: When you're grateful for what you have, you'll spend less money, too!)

So, today, I want you to take a small step toward developing a spirit of giving. You don’t need to go overboard!

Here are a few ideas on how you could be generous today:

  • Share a few dollars with someone who really needs them.
  • Pay for a meal or coffee for the person behind you in the drive-through.
  • Surprise a family member or a friend with a small, thoughtful gift.

Or you can come up with an idea on your own! What will you do today?

P.S. Don’t forget to make sure you have a Giving category in your EveryDollar budget.
